So my 5x Gt Grandmother married a man, her second husband, I am descended from her first. However the man she married is the brother of another 5xGt Grandmother of mine, so he is also a blood relation.
I therefore have him in other places in my tree, but in the profile header ancestry lists him as “husband of grandmother “ rather than “uncle”
They have some advice on this, I followed it, he was still up as Husband of. So I deleted both entries for him, and re listed him all over again. This time he appeared as “uncle” . Then ten minutes later, he was back again as “husband of” he comes up as this even when I click on him in the siblings list for his sister.
It is v annoying, what am I doing wrong ?

You're probably not doing anything wrong. We have a situation where two families married into each other for a couple of generations, plus another where two siblings married two cousins. Ancestry can't cope with any of it.

Yes, my family tree and my husbands family tree cross over 2 times at least (over 100+ yrs, big families, same region).
It really muddles the site.

Thank you. It is just annoying, as I am doing the tree for family reference and if anyone other than me clicked on this man they would assume there is no blood relationship, as weirdly it calls him this even if I click on him as the son of my ancestor, rather than the husband of other GGGGG grandmother.
I have quite a few related families marrying in different generations, it is obviously common, ancestry should sort this out !
I will email them and see what they say.m

I would have a duplicate person for both relationships on the tree and then add a comment on each page to state that they are the same person.

Hmm yes, maybe I should do that catndogslife . My DH’s tree is full of people who he relates to in different ways, so I need to work out some sensible system !

I have 2 sisters that married brothers and that method has worked on my tree.
One of the sisters is my great great grandmother.
