I think I have found a living relative of a woman who was transported to Australia wirh her son after she wasconvicted as an accomplice to my ancestor’s crime, he was hung.

me and this living man are not related but my family and his link in the 1850s.

I have the transcript of the court case.- is it ok to contact him through ancestry when we are not blood relations?

Of course! The very fact he's on Ancestry means he's interested.

That’s a good point. I might be wrong, there are a couple of missing links - but the dates and family names and locations tie up - I’m 80% sure he’s at one end of the story and I’m at the others.

he would be able to do more from Oz than I can from here.

I feel weirdly responsible for this woman. I expect that if it was now and she posted on “relationship” she’d be told to LTB.

I’ll message this living chap through the genealogy site.
