I have always been keenly interested in the Tudor period, and was astounded by this discovery yesterday!😍

What does this mean, that her great great great grandparent is 18 generations from you?

We share a great x21 grandfather (James Butler 3rd Earl of Ormonde). My family are descended from a daughter of Piers Butler 8th Earl of Ormonde (see lower right hand of attached handy diagram I found). So extremely distant, but was enough to give me a thrill!🥰

I had a distant cousin tell me we might be related to Robert the Bruce but not sure I believe that!
