Location of a ship in the 1871 census - latitude and longitude

Hello, I've found one of my relatives on HMS Industry at the time of the 1871 census. I'd really love to know whereabouts in the world the ship was at that time but I can't work out how to put the latitude and longitude into Google maps. I imagine he was probably in Watford but would love to know if anyone can figure it out!

"Find or enter latitude and longitude - Computer - Google Maps Help" support.google.com/maps/answer/18539?hl=en-GB&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

I had a go - see pic. I might not have quite transcribed the digits correctly as I can't zoom the picture all that well on my phone. But shows the format I used to search at least!

Oh thank you @newrubylane I was completely hopeless at it! Nice to see my great great great grandad had a bit of an adventure (albeit in the boiler room of the ship!)

Do you think I got those coordinates ok? I initially read it as '79' rather than '49' but Google didn't think that was a thing. I have to say I'm no geographer. However the record seemed like it was saying west coast of Africa, so this would tally.

This image shows Mr Stanley and some of his African followers on board HMS Industry, published in The Illustrated London News, January 5 1878 (engraving) by Overend, William Heysham (1851-98) (after); Private Collection; (add.info.: At the end of his epic 1874-77 exploratory expedition of Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika and the Congo river Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904) travelled from Luanda, Angola, to Zanzibar aboard the HMS Industry; This scene to said to have been sketched from life;); British, out of copyright

So this looks promising!
