Why are ancestry sites so terrible to navigate! Or is it just me

Argh! I have done a dna test with Ancestry and also uploaded my results to My Heritage and FTDNA. All I want to do is look at my matches' family trees and work out where we are linked, but all three sites are so difficult to navigate and view the trees - I've tried on my phone and on the laptop, both awful. You can't just move smoothly around the tree looking for possible links, you have to click on bits in a little window and that DOESN'T WORK. I'm on FTDNA right now and all I want is a list of names in the family tree and do you think I can find one? AngryAngry

I've not done the dna thing but did our tree in ancestry relatively easily

Yes inputting your own tree is easy, I'm talking about trying to scan through someone else's to find how you are related. They are all very user unfriendly!

Have you tried the ancestry phone app? I find it highly navigable on my elderly iPhone. FTDNA is 100% unusable on a phone but great on a computer.

It’s still quite a plodding pedestrian sort of job though, trawling through trees and establishing links. In the ancestry app at least you can go to the match’s tree and search by surname or ‘list all people’.
