Jewellery box mystery

My late grandad left me a jewellery box, the odd thing is it didn't go to my mum, but it had a ladies name tag on the box that wasn't his 2 wives that I know about.
I found a 3rd wedding ring.... how do I track this back?

I don't know but how intriguing. Is there anyone left alive who might know? Is there a way of searching for marriage certificates by the husband's name only and no exact date, I wonder?

Could it have been his Mum’s? Or his grandma’s?

Nope no one back in our family tree, doesn't seem appropriate to ask the sister that's left as it's odd how he didn't want to give it to her or my mum ?

Have you googled the name? Are you a member of ancestry? You can build your family tree in there and it will suggest other people’s trees on there that match

If you search under his name on BMD you should be able to find out the names of anyone he married
