I'm curious to know the nationalities of my ancestors. How do you go about this? Thanks

The DNA test I took through National Geographic was very interesting - and expensive - over £100 to find out my MtDNA haplogroup. This is the line going through my mum, her mum, her mum, etc. all the way back to approx 8000BC. My mum's side are all extremely fair so was surprised to find out that the original line came from Turkey and then migrated to Ireland at this time. But we like to think it's where we inherited our green eyes :P

I'd love to have this done too. Fascinating

Did any of you watch the Izzards program last week ? He did this - followed his y chromosome and also his maternal line - interesting stuff.

Blue eyes apparently appear in Turkey about 10000 years ago in the Black Sea area.

I am haoping in a few years it will be much cheaper and more comprehensive to do some dna research.
