Is it possible to set up a hotmail account for DS1 and be able to monitor it alongside my own?

DS1 is not yet 8 but desperate for his own email address so he can join children's sites like Lego Club, Penguin Club etc.

I don't want him to enter my email address so thought maybe he could have his own.

But I want to to be able to keep an eye on any email traffic he gets.

set up an account - but only you know the password ?

citronella · 08/07/2010 20:03

No, he would have the password as well. Do I just register an other account myself with different name and different password to my existing one even though I already have one?

Sorry if I'm being a bit thick - it just seems too easy.

DC have their own accounts, but DH has set them up so any mail that hits their accouns also gets copied into our inboxes.

PandaG that's the sort of thing I mean.

Is it in Hotmail and how do I do it?

sorry - just got back to this

DH did it, we have our own domain name, amd it is a facility the email server provider has, to automatically forward all emails.

DH doesn't think that yo can do that with Hotmail, but may be able to with a Gmail account.

sorry, not very helpful!

You can do it with Hotmail. If you create the new account first, then log into your Hotmail, there's a thing on the left which says "add another email account". From there it's pretty self-explanatory.

Polgara2 · 08/07/2010 23:27

You can do it with googlemail,

citronella · 08/07/2010 23:39

Thanks all - sorry I've taken a while to get back. Had to go off and do lunches, etc for tomorrow.

Gerontius i am going to give it a go.

You can link them into your account so you can check them easily!

While you are in your inbox, go to your name in top right corner, left click. Scroll down to 'link another account' and follow prompts.

You can link 5, incl yours. And then to check them, click on your name in the same place, select the email addy you want to check.
