Desperate! - Inserting pictures from MAC iphoto library to Word doc

I am going mad! I'm sure this should only take five minutes but I have been at it for hours!

I am trying to insert photos from the iphoto library into Word, but Word, keeps rotating them so that all the ones that should be in portrait are landscape (i.e lying down) and think I have tried everything.

I have to give the piece of work in tomorrow ( its a record of DS2's nursery's stuffed dog's visit over the weekend. I have to finish it but I want to go to bed!

Please please can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?!

Try double clicking on it and setting the layout to tight so yo can position it where you want then rotate the picture using the picture menu in word.

Sorry if I'm being thick but where is the layout option to set to "tight" and nor do I see an option to rotate in word.
