argh itunes update and os 4 nightmare!

OS4 for iphone comes out later today. I've tried to automatically update my itunes os to 9.2 - which is normally not a problem, but it refuses today. Typical.

It says to try download only and proceed from there ?!?

I'm operating windows 7 and have an iphone 3gs

itunes now no longer recognises my iphone - and the computer thinks it's a camera.

Techy fail. sad face.

Any ideas? Apart from wait for another update in a couple of weeks - and suffer the taunts of friends and family running shiny lovely os4 on their iphones?

Wish I had read this earlier, might have resisted updating my iPhone to iOS 4.

Did you get it working again?

not yet. just doing a complete reinstall - of course it's taking time today.

Is os4 a nightmare? off tosearch the lists.

... and it's still buggered.
