Are there any Sims 3 experts out there?

My 12 year old dd has invested months into this game, and it's stopped working.

Basically, it won't recognise and load the game disc.

The error message is:

Your Sims 3 base game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 expansion pack. Please update your game via the game launcher.

But it was working perfectly with the same disc before the message came up. I have spent hours googol fo solutions but nothing seems to work.

Can anyone help?

Sounds to me like your kid has been online d'loading content or attempting to play while online without downloading it, better do what it says.

Alternatively have you tried Emailing EA (the sims games are published by Electronic Arts).

Ryoko, thanks for replying. We have looked at the EA website, where there are many similar complaints. However EA have not come up with a satisfactory solution.

Oh well, I will keep persevering....
