Is this some terrible, scary, horror thing?

My email account has days recently when it goes soooooo slow it feels like I'm on dial-up. Only the email, no other site. I notice that when it's loading, the bar shows "downloading from yieldmanager" blah blah. When I scan (Ad-aware or AVG, depends, I have both though don't run at same time obviously) 30 or so Yieldmanager cookies are always highlighted.

Should I be getting rid? How?

Yup, it's horrible spyware, and by all accounts not as easy to remove as some. If you search on Google you should find some pointers to remove it -- though I admit I've no personal experience of it.

Oh joy. Have googled. Perhaps easiest thing might be just to delete whole email account?

Bloody fvck. And dd has managed to cut her own hair while I've been googling.

It's not a problem with the email account. It's on your computer. Download MalwareBytes and get it to do a full scan of your computer. It's free but it will take a while.

OK! Have to go and deal with hair crisis now, so will d/l and let it run.

Didn't seem to work...although it did pick up 23 infected files, mostly registry files, one folder.

The yieldmanager thing is still showing at the bottom of my yahoo as the page takes half an hour to load.

Any other ideas?
