No 3g coverage at home, no wifi either

So if I get an iphone or a HTC desire does that mean I can't go on the internet at home?

How reliable are the coverage maps from Orange, 02, etc? They all show 3g coverage stopping about a mile from my house. Seems silly when I'm only 5 miles from a large city!

An iPhone will also use 2.5g (or EDGE) if no 3G connection is available, so that might cover you....

Without 3G, 2.5G or WIFI then it won't get onto the internet.

Does someone you know have 3G to try ?

The reason I ask is that our home was out of the range according to the maps but it works in reality.

I know someone who has 3g on o2 and that works. Woman in o2 shop said it would even though their maps said it wouldn't.

I don't know anyone on three or vodafone and those are the 2 companies that I've found good offers with. Both of their maps say no 3g coverage but I'm wondering if in reality it would work.

I've read if I buy online though and the coverage is poor then I can send it back. Not read that on their actual websites though so not sure how much of a fight I would have.
