It's a HP2100(I think). I have the scanner, the leads, but can't find the disk that came with it. Have just unearthed millions of o;d photos and I'd like to get cracking with them...

TIA

Depends on how old it is. If its not that old, it should be Plug N Play, meaning hook it up, it will work.

Otherwise you can probably download the drivers from the HP website.

What are you running (Operating system) yes it should be possible. Plug it in, turn it on and see if your computer recognises it.

unless you already have the software installed on your Pc, then no.

You could probably download the software though.

you can download the software from the internet ...

I plugged in my printer/scanner only a few days ago and that hasn't seen the light of days in years (and the software is long ago deleted from my computer and disk lost) and it automatically installed the drivers and then worked just fine.

Have tried plugging it in... Nothing happens... And I don't have internet on that computer, I'll try on this one now...

Thank you all.

You could possibly use the GIMP to scan. It will use it's built in TWAIN driver which most scanners support.

However, installing GIMP and using it could be a bit overcomplicated compared with Windows finding the right driver.

Could you use the standard windows fax and scan software ???

Thanks all- I found the disk and have been scanning all night
