Does anyone know how i get the mail thing to see my gmail contacts on my iPad? I,ve set my gmail account as my mail account but it doesn't have my contacts. I can only get to them from webmail.

Thanks!

You'd probably need to enter them manually.

Any Mail application keeps the contacts locally. Any webmail facility keeps them in some sort of database accessed through the website when you are logged in.

To the best of my knowledge (30 years in IT, but there will be many mail services I have never heard of) no IMAP or POP mail server keeps the contact names/details.

One reason is that there may be some common fields, but each mail application or webmail service can have different numbers of fields - just as one of my mobiles has Name, number, home number, company name, email and work number, but another mobile only stores the name and number (and some symbol to indicate whether it's a relative or business contact, or VIP).

Does this help?

Thanks for the link - shows me about moving info from Windows Mobile to Android !

Network Guy - do you mean that when you click on the link you get the Windows Mobile/Android page instead of the Google contact info? or just that it's got a link to the Android page? Because the link works for me....

Sorry, should have added the word 'site' as in
