surprisingly small radio for the 70's!

I made a radio for school once. did it with bits from maplins. Only problem was that it only picked up one station - russian I think and that was when I looked up the aerial to a school radiator!Yours sounds much more successful.

did your watch come with explosives?

I had a long (and early) interest in radio, perhaps something passed down to my by my dad (Royal Signals, but died when I was under 8, and spent more time in the British Legion than at home before that).

Only later on did I try making a radio, but remember a Russian-made AM radio which could fit inside a (small) matchbox - physically it was a little thicker than a watch battery and had two controls (off/on + volume - that one held the watch battery in place, plus a frequency control) and output via a single earplug.

OK for listening to the cricket during a lesson (except I was not interested in cricket, and it wasn't worth the risk of being confiscated, so I never considered listening during a lesson anyway.

Ha, first time I knew it was similar to the one in a Bond film was when I saw some websites yesterday night... mine shows M354-5010 not M354-5019 like the one on Ebay!
