Playing movies on iphone

I saw on the iphone ad that you can play movies (or finding Nemo at least) on iphone. Can I upload avi and wmv files from my PC or do they have to be special bought ones from itunes?

I did go through the unhelp service but it said drag files into itunes in the normal way, but my files will not budge.

Is there a special secret handshake I need to know to get it to work?

iPhones won't play videos in that format and I don't think that iTunes will convert them for you. Which is, I guess, why the drag and drop isn't working. You need to find something to convert the videos into an iPhone friendly format, I'm sure someone here can suggest something.
