Gah. Someone has created a Word document I need to edit but half the bits are uneditable. He-l-p

Boss does this, makes bits completely static

I can't select all and copy to new document

saving it to new doc makes no difference

I have headers and footers that aren't actually headers and footers

I have graphics I need to delete but I can't even blardy select them

I wonder if you could select all, copy and paste, but when you do paste you choose Paste special and then paste it as plain text ?

or open in notepad?

another option - if you make yourself a google docs account and import the doc to there, i've found it's sometimes pretty good at freeing up docs that are locked/protected in any way.

turned out it was password protected

so I did very little until hometime since boss was in meeting with password in his head

google docs thing great idea, but it just didn't work... sadly.
