Never maintain computer and wondering how I give it a 'service' so to speak, have looked in Computer settings and I need to delete lots off my C drive, any ideas how to go about this?!

Do you have another drive as well, or does your computer only have the C drive? Mine also has a D drive and I move things like photos to there.

You can also put things like photos onto a CD or DVD if you have a writer for those.

Other than that, emptying the recycle bin and deleting temporary internet files can clear up a bit of space.

If it's XP, right click on your C driver, select properties and then "Disk Cleanup".

It will take a long time to scan, but that should help you get rid of some stuff - but I wouldn't recommend selecting the "compress your drive" option.

Then you could use a utility like WinDirStat to find out where all the room is being taken up and try get rid of some.

Do you have applications installed you never use? Uninstall them.

If you have lots of pictures/videos - you might want to backup to secondary disk/cd/dvd.

Maybe you just need a bigger disk!
