Geeky stuff

This has probably been asked before but can you download stuff from youtube?

I have a mac laptop, and want to use an advert for a lesson this week. I don't want to have to rely on the connection in my classroom, which is rubbish. I want to be able to look at the advert several times, and freeze frames (not sure if that is relevant!)

I am a hopeless non-geek, and would really appreciate any help with this. Thank you!

Yes, but it isn't strictly above board...I'm not sure how, I'm sure with a bit of googling the software will be free online.

THanks. I have never downloaded software online (maybe acrobat or something). I'll have a look. Don't want to download anything dodgy, but I guess I can't have it all ways!

There's an add-on for Firefox that will allow you to capture media (including videos) from YouTube....

Hmmm Firefox you say... Add-on.... Right. (hopeless non-geek!)

I have done it - and no doubt opened myself to all sorts of hideous marketing as a result...

Thanks both.

No, don't assume you'll get marketing. The add-ons for Firefox are mostly (if not all) good and I've yet to see any which do more than ask for a donation if you like their software

I've tried dozens of add-ons on a half dozen machines with different versions of Firefox (2x Dell, 1x Mesh, 3 laptops, an iMac and an eMachines PC with Firefox v1.0.5, v2.x, v3.0.x, and v3.5.x)
