Saving a pdf file as single sheet documents?

Hi,

Your help would be MUCH appreciated!

I have a pdf file, its 12 pages long and 8Mb. I need to send 3 pages of this to someone - if I send the whole lot their email system refuses it because of the large attachment size.

How can I re-save just 3 pages of this pdf?

I have Acrobat Reader 9 on my laptop.

Please??

not easy to amend PDF files - that's the point of them that once created they cannot be fiddled with. You'd need some sort of PDF writing software rather than just reader.

I presume zipping the file doesn't shrink it enough to send to them?

No, not so far - it takes it down from 8Mb to 7.1MB.

You could use You send it to send the whole file- the basic version is free and is great for sending large files.

Otherwise, if it's just text, you could copy and paste 3 pages into a word document and then resave as a PDF...

Actually, you can take a snapshot of the whole page and paste it into a word document, so you could do this even if it's not just text.

Tethersend - you are a genius. Don't know why I didn't think of that - have used yousentit before, and copy and pasting into word is even better.

Hurrah!
Thank you both!

Another way would be to get an add-on (handy if you want to make a PDF from something which only offers a "print" function) for Windows. Find "doPDF" on the web (sorry, cannot remember the link) and install. It adds a new "printer" which you can select.

Then, you'd just choose the page(s) you wanted to save as a PDF (for sending to someone, for example, or just keeping a copy, such as from an eBay listing) and "print". You'll end up with a PDF which will open in Adobe reader (so you can be sure it has the pages you want).
