HTC Desire vs. Tattoo vs. wait for new iPhone...esp. for MNing

I had a browse at some phones last night and really liked the HTC desire & tattoo. The tattoo is cheaper per month, but will I regret not getting the 'best' one? I know nothing about all this android stuff etc - I just want a phone I can MN on, facebook, take some pics, do a few fancy things etc. I have been desperate for an iphone so was holding out for the (hopefully!) new one in June ish time, but maybe the HTC would be better anyway? Thanks if you can help

I have the Desire and I find it much easier than the Tattoo to browse on. It has a faster processor than the Tattoo so you'll find that the Internet pages load much faster/

If you really would use music, apps, and so on, it won't hurt to wait a month or so to see what the new iPhone is like, but I can recommend the Desire for what you've said you'll use a phone for

Yes the Desire is very good. I have not had an iphone but the Desire does everything I want.

I used the moneysavingexpert website's checker thingy to find the best deal for the Desire (it was with T-mobile) then asked my provider Orange to match it and they did. After initially telling me in the Orange shop I would have to pay £150 for a Desire, they gave it to me for £29 (on the same contract - 18 month £20 per month) by phoning up and telling them about the Tmobile deal I had found. I was very surprised.

Does anyone know if Mumsnet are doing an android app as well as the planned iphone app?
