ipod itunes help asap im about to through my PC out the window

Windows 7

had ipod shuffle (lost it)

so have existing itunes account on PC

Brought new ipod, its arrived

won't sync with itunes

doesnt even register its existence on itunes

So you've opened ITunes, you've plugged the iPod in - then what happens? Nothing at all? Anything new in the right hand column - where the playlists are?

I had to create a replacement iPhone once. IIRC, I plugged it in and it appeared under "devices" on the left hand side. From there I was able to link it to the old playlist etc and set up all the sync options. I don't remember having to do anything clever.

It's just taken a good 10 minutes for iTunes to be triggered into life by my iPhone though - how long have you waited?
