Help, my email page is playing up!

Hi, my emails are suddenly just showing up all over the page, some high, some low, some in the middle but in no discernable order.

I think our pc is on it's way out and we have decided to get a new one at some point.
It often shuts down then it has periods where it works perfectly.

So maybe the email thing is part of pc leaving the party, or, maybe there are a couple of simple steps to reset the chronological order of incoming emails?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
thanks.

What email application are you using (e.g. Outlook Express, Mac Email or something like Hotmail) and what Operating System do you have (e.g. Windows XP, Windows Vista or Mac OS X)?

Jamiki · 15/04/2010 13:50

Hi Badgers, yes is outlook express and windows xp.

If you click the column headers on the page showing all the emails it should sort them by that column value.

Give that a go, any good?

I wasn't quite sure what a column header was, so I clicked in the thing that looks like an exclamation mark and hey presto! It seems to have done the job!It has sorted the chronological order and hopefully they will follow suit coming in.

Thankyou so much. I will do a good deed in your name, Cheers, Jamiki.

The column headers are the little button looking things above each column in the list of emails, they should have the name of each column (e.g. "Subject"). The ! should be one of them and it sorts by priority, which you've probably never used, and then by date which seems to have fixed your problem.

No worries, thankyou
