We've got a freeview box (Humax) and the TV picture keeps freezing. Can only remedy by turning power off and on again - works for a few secs then freezes again. Won't respond to any buttons on the remote or the box itself. Did it for the 1st time when DD downstairs on her own, so can't guarantee she hasn't meddled but she says not.

Does anybody have any tips to try? TIA.

Have you retuned it? We had to retune ours on Wednesday because of the digital switchover thing.

PenelopePitstops · 26/03/2010 21:25

Have you tried re tuning the box?

Thanks, no not retuned it since ?last year. It finds the channels, just keeps freezing - don't think I can even try to retune because none of buttons are responding on remote or set. Is very annoying!

Well it's certainly seen some dust recently, maybe we have killed it. It is doing its usual humming noise. Will leave off until the morning and try again.

Thanks everybody (and will let you know LG).

It lives! For anybody else who has same prob, the controls reactivated after disconnecting and reattaching the aerial cable as well as power cable. Could then retune and that seems to have fixed it.

(I'd like to say I worked this out myself but would be lying.)
