I have some issues

1)If the song names for this CD cannot be found, how do I label them?

2)Is there anyway to make the menu options verbal/audible?

What do you mean by "aren't labelled very well"?

For any track you can change any of that info by doing the right click and "get info" thing.

Be a bit aware though that iTunes can be a bit funny about guessing which tracks make up an album. Things like album name, artist and total tracks all have to match for iTunes to group them together as one album.

The chapter names aren't 1, 2, 3 - but now I copied & pasted there is more info that is visible on the iPod

& another one is 1a, 1b, 1c etc which at least makes sense

The big problem is (I think) DD's inability to see the screen & my need to fix everything

Use the "Get Info" thing on each and every track (I'm pretty sure that when viewing the info for each track there's a next and previous button that will bring up the info for the next or previous track without you having to go back and right click another track) and edit down the title to be something that's not quite such a handful as those.

You can change the track name as much as you like and you won't affect the ordering (as long as the track number is right) within each album.

I think, BadgersPaws, that it is me that has the issue - rather than the iPod

I'm all stroppy and upset about DD

It might be worth a quick trip to an Apple Store at a quiet time and asking for some help/demos on using iPods and iTunes.

It's all great when the names load automatically and they're sensible but some pointers on how to handle things when they're not could be really helpful.

Katymac I have no techy hep I'm afraid but your dd has fantastic taste in reading material, I read I Coriander last Sunday when I was waiting for my Sunday lunch, it's very good!

Katymac · 19/03/2010 20:13

She loved it - she read it a few months ago & was so happy to find it on audio at the library

I may get in to a shop; but I don't know when
