I-Pod Touch - How long before battery needs re-charging ???

I was given an i-pod touch for xmas by my lovely dh.
However I've found that even though it's charged every night (on docking station as I use an radio alarm clock app) when i'm out and about listening to music- or the kids are playing games on it I only get a couple of hours battery life.

Surely the battery should last longer than this ?????

Well my iPhone needs charging everyday otherwise it dies. Playing games will use up the battery pretty quickly so it's not a surprise your itouch doesn't last.
We've got two chargers at home as me and DH both have iPhones and if we're at home, will stick phones on charge if we're not using them to keep them topped up.

I have an iphone and charge it every night. I use internet regularly daily ,phone calls and games. A few hours al together and some music. The phone is never completely down though. I thought it last ed quite well for the use.

I have a charger for in the car (when I put it in ) as I do a lot of driving where I cant get a radio signal so I have the plan to listen to things then.
