hi noddy

we all have ipod touch here!!

they are internet....so dfacebook, msn, ebay, twitter etc can all be accessed on them,as well as store all music and photos as a regular ipod

you can download apps, which can be games etc, either free or various prices

all my dd's friends have them....they seem to be a popular 16th birthday pressie here!!

i loved mine, but have moved on to iphone now so gave itouch to dd age 13

GypsyMoth · 24/02/2010 11:12

you need wi fi to use them at home, sorry should have said!

but beware as i've found, you cant restrict what they view....but at 16 i guess you cant anyway!

Thanks so is it like a little hand held computer? How does it access out of the house do i have to pay monthly or anything Sorry I am hopeless!

no monthly fee...only your computers usual expense

he can use his itune account for apps.....my girls sneakily buy apps as i gave them password as you need that even for free apps....but have changed it due to them running up a bill each month!

you connect to wifi just like you would a laptop when out and about

yes, just like a little hand held computer!

noddyholder · 24/02/2010 11:29

Thanks I wasn't sure if I had to pay more for out and about.Have wireless here and have a lap top which has never left the house

'Tis an iPhone without the phone.

WebDude · 24/02/2010 12:33

I assume the plan would be to sell the iPod when /if he gets an iPod Touch.

Might be worth getting him to sell it first, and offer to top up the amount to cover an iPod Touch as they're not exactly cheap...

(Sorry, just seems a reasonable idea to me... as a new iPod Touch is a fairly expensive gift, and his way he gets a nice new gadget to use, plus a {small?} pile of cash from selling his old iPod, too... lots of cream on top of the cherry on top of the cake if he sells it afterwards!)

Yes, WM, I'd quite like one, too...

noddyholder · 24/02/2010 13:03

Oh he will be contributing whatever he gets He also has an old ipod shuffle he can sell that too!

actaully, I was given an itouch by my brother when he got the phone - it has all his mucis on it (lodas and loads) some of it good, some not so goood....How do I put my music on that I want? DH thinks that if I go to itunes then I will lose all my DB's music?? Is this true???

BadgersPaws · 24/02/2010 20:59

When you first connect the iPod it will ask if you want to automatically sync your music with your iTunes or if you want to manually manage it.

If you manually mange the music it will be fine and nothing will be lost.

But I can't remember how the question is phrased, so I can't advise on exactly how to answer.

So if the question isn't obvious then don't answer and come back on here for more advice...
