At the moment I have a Sony Ericsson K750i, which I really like. My contract is up for renewal and I am looking for a new phone.

Things I use on my current phone:-
Mobile Internet
checking email
music player
radio
camera
as well as the normal making a small amount of phone calls and texting.

I'm looking at 2 phones on virgin mobile, the Blackberry Curve 8520 and the Samsung Jet. It appears (to me) that the blackberry may not be able to give me mobile internet, t seems to have just a modem. The Jet, however, does have 3g technology.
So, am I correct? I'd be so annoyed if I chose the blackberry then couldn't get online or check my emails!

Blackberry units have been popular with business users in the past, primarily for e-mail, but I've not personally used them.

From GSM Arena ( www.gsmarena.com ) the Curve 8520 is 2G not 3G, but the web page indicates it handles e-mail, IM and has a web browser, but also that it has wi-fi built-in (wi-fi would probably be faster than via any mobile phone network).

Worth a read BBC comparison of a few smartphones from different makers (Oct 2009) as it includes the Samsung Jet
