So I've joined Twitter - what do I do next?!

I've joined because our local council seems to be using their Twitter site to pass on lots of snow related information - but I don't know how to use the site to ask them questions etc

Any simple advice would be appreciated!

As well as following friends and celebrities you can follow various news outlets etc. Similarly you can follow your local council if you know (or can search) for the Twitter name. That way every time they post it will come up into your Inbox - rather like getting emails from them. I follow BBC, Channel 5, Sky Sports etc in a similar way.

If you then want to ask them a questions you can either send them a Direct Message or just answer one of their Tweets.
