I have a Netgear router for my Sky broadband, but I have used it with the ethernet cable because my PC wasn't wireless enabled, but now I have bought a new laptop and I'd like to be able to use it all over the house without having to unplug the router and move it with me every time, .

On Sky website, there are instructions to install the router for wireless for the first time, but not how to change from ethernet cable to wireless and I'm terrified of doing something wrong and ending up with no broadband and having to phone up tech support.

Can someone tell me if it's quite simple and straightforward to change?

Ring up sky - they are very good and will talk you through each step of the way and wait while you do it - Good luck

Have you tried to see if the new PC picks it up?
I had new laptop for christmas which recognised BT hub right away.

Goober, no laptop wireless is disabled for some reason.

winterwalks, I know this is the sensible way to do it, I just never get a helpcentre in this country and the support people don't know what they are doing, they just read from a list, but will give it a go tomorrow. After all, it beats not having wireless at all
