Can't get into my e-mail account on laptop

This is driving me NUTS, really hope someone can help. I have an email account with talktalk.net, set up on my PC. This opens in Outlook Express. When I try to get into my e-mail account from the laptop (Windowsmail), it doesn't recognise the username and/or password. Just tells me they are incorrect. I have tried to reset the password but never receive an e-mail with the new one! It can't be this hard to get into your e-mail account! What am I doing wrong?

Are you still receiving the mails in outlook express on your PC?
How are you changing your password?
My point is, that if you have changed your password with talktalk then you probably won't be able to get your emails on your PC either, and you will have to enter the new password on here too.
Can you log into a talktalk website and get your email from there? Then if this works I can help you set up your windows mail etc..

Thanks Indio, the emails are fine in Outlook Express. No problem with accessing them. I will have another go at getting them via Talktalk website.

Have you set it up?
IE put in the smtp/ pop addresses?

I think so. Went through and checked that IMP/Pop details were on there, just the same as in the outlook express one. It just keeps telling me username and/or password not recognised - if I try to reset the password, it says an email has been sent to my 'alternative' email address. But don't know what this is!! The only other e mail address I know of is an old tesco.net one, and no messsages are in there. How do I find out what the 'alternative' e-mail address is?
