I have been going round in circles for months now, trying to decide on a laptop.
I need a dependable brand, as need it to last for a good few years.
Budget is around £399 prefeably, up to £450 absolute max.
This is the one I have my eye on and I think it is quite good valur for money.
asus from ebuyer

I intend to use it mainly for surfing, mnetting, facebooking, watching dvds and streaming live tv (also possibly downloading if poss), as well as storing photos and possibly some video editing.

Does anyone own one or have any opinions on this laptop/asus in general?

Hiya flier,
I've got one, it's getting quite old now, but has surprisingly been more reliable than the sonys (2) and the toshiba my DP has had in that time. Recently took the toshiba in for fixing (in fact, it got buried instead), and the repair guy recommended ASUS as a brand when talking about what replacement DP should be looking at.
