How to get home video onto iPod please??

DS has made a little animation which is now stored on the computer - howw do we get it to appear on his iPod nano? Does it have to be converted into something the iPod can see?
Any idiot-proof help gratefully received!

I've tried this but I can't seem to get it to appear in the library at all.

It's in windows media at the moment. Video file.

It's the video format, I don't think that iTunes can convert Windows Media Video files.

You'll need some conversion software, something like this:

However I've never used something like this and the one above isn't free.

Someone else might be able to recommend a good free piece of software....

Err - does the Nano support video? Not sure........

Thanks Bruce - I'll give that one a go. Have downloaded and then uninstalled a few programmes this morning as the free trial versions seem often to turn out to only do a percantage of the file conversion.

Yeah you may need to look at the less salubrious end of the market (ie less shiny) I managed to find one to get stuff on to my ipod a while ago but not sure if the Nano has the same display ratio......
