Geeky stuff

anyone know how to print something that would normally be A4 as A6.

I've got a word doc that I'd like to print so that each page is size A6.

I've got the ability to print onto 6x4 photo paper (which is very close to A6) - or I'm happy to get each page printed onto A4 and then take a pair of scissors to it.

I've also got the ability to scan (so I guess I could print is as normal, onto A4, and then scan it and save as an image - and then play around with it - but I think this will lose quality quite a bit).

Any ideas as to the best way to do this? many thanks

is A6 half A4?

or a quarter?

On your print options you should have the choice to select the size of paper - set this to your 6x4 or whatever you have loaded. Then there should be an option called 'fit to size' or 'fit to frame' which should shrink it to fit that paper.

A6 is 1/4 of A4, so you would need to print 4 pages per sheet - have a look in your printer's properties to see if yours will do this - on mine, it's Properties/Finishing/Document Options/Pages per sheet

derrr - didn;t think of the 4 pages per sheet option - and I regularly use 2 page per sheet to save on paper so should have realised.

just tried it and it's worked fine. thanks so much - it's for a small present for the girls - a homemade recipe book each with their favourites in, photos of them, with each page laminated. I thought I was going to be here all night messing about with images and cropping and going spare. thanks all!
