Scanner recommendations

Would love a scanner I could use to get some photos from my pre-digital days on to the computer. No idea where to start - anyone else done this?

I don't know what the best out there is, but we have an Epson one and have been very pleased with it. Software that comes with is easy to use, and the quality seems very good.

It's several years old now and pretty robust (it's got flung around several times). Was one of the Perfection range - can't get the exact model now as it's obsolete, but I assume the range is still good.
