Dell are generally OK, but it seems pricey for the spec. It's out of date and won't run an up to date version of Windows. I'm dubious, but my 4 year old daughter would love th epink design .

For the same sort of money, maybe this would be better?

brimfull · 16/12/2009 16:43

thanks for your reply
very helpful

I thought it was a good price but your link is interesting

thanks

I've had a bit more of a dig around and there doesn't seem to be may decent full size laptops at that price, so maybe I'm too fussy? OTOH when around £300 get's you this or this I'd expect more for almost £200.

thanks for those links -they are both good-now to find some money

I've often looked at the lower end laptops but the small screen puts me off, when an extra hundred pounds seems to offer something quite a lot better (decent size keyboard, for a start, and a more generous screen, of course)

On Amazon, I saw Asus X58L - 1 Gb RAM, 120 Gb HD, 15.6 inch, costing about 280 (new) inc delivery (also models at about 260 but were refurbished).

thanks webdude
I am pretty clueless about these things
will have a look at amazon as well
