Have you run a scan lately? Do you have Pop-Up blocker on? What OS are you using?

Missy8c · 09/12/2009 07:37

Sounds buggy to me. Yes check the pop-up blocker is on and also run a scan. What anti-virus software are you using?

BadgersPaws · 09/12/2009 09:15

I'm presuming that you're running a version of Windows.

First update your anti-virus software and run a scan

Then download this:
www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

There are applications that aren't strictly viruses but are still "harmful" that that application can pick up and remove.

Thanks eveyone, done all of the above & ad-ware is scanning now. Without wanting to seem thick....what' OS?

OS, Operating System.

I presume that it's Windows but knowing what version can be handy, though it sounds like you might now be OK.

Did those things turn anything up?

The problem hasn't gone any suggestions gratefully received.

Have you tried looking in your add/remove programmes to see if anything is there that shouldn't be?

I noticed a lot of weird things appear which after running spybot seemed to have come from dd's obsession with bloody fish world on FB! I removed them and seems OK now.

Have you tried running the AdAware package again?

When do this other windows open up? Is it when you're browsing the internet? If so what browser are you using and what do this windows say?

brightwell · 13/12/2009 21:59

Running AdAware has sorted it....Thanks.
