Does anyone have a Blackberry Curve 8900

I might be getting one of these for DH for Christmas but I don't know if its the right phone.

All I know is he wants a QWERTY keyboard (he is useless at sending texts bless him)
and I know he wants to be able to go on the internet with it.

I don't want to get the iPhone as its too dear if you ask me. I currently pay £12 a month for the phone he has now. The Blackberry is on offer for £20 a month which is good (I think)

Any comments or suggestions welcome.

I've got one. It's OK. Email comes straight to it. Texting is fine. Comes with a few other bits and pieces I hardly use but your DH might like.

Internet connection is too slow for me - couldn't be bothered unless I have to!

Truth be told, I'd love, love, love an iPhone though.

Thanks for replying.
He has an iPod touch which he always uses, I think its a 32GB one. The iPhone I was looking at is only 8GB, not sure that would be enough for him.

I know he would like the iPhone, he has spoke about it alot. I wonder what the best deal on it is? Time to investigate I think.

I should be generous, he just bought me the most adorable puppy in the world for Christmas

DW has one. I would hesitate to recommend it.

I have one and I hate it.

It's not intuitive at all and getting onto the internet is really slow, and it's a small screen to view the pages.

I lust after an iPhone!

No comparison IMO - if he wants an iPhone I don't think he'd be happy with a BB.

Well I went out today and got him a phone.
I settled on the iphone
They were doing an offer and I got an upgrade for the 16GB instead of the 8GB phone.

If he isn't happy with it, I'll just have to keep it for myself lol

Oh, where did you get it from kid? Im planning on buying an iphone this week and wouldnt say no to an upgrade!

foxinsocks · 12/12/2009 19:46

I have a blackberry for work and I wouldn't use anything else for emails.

However, if it wasn't a work tool, I'd get the iphone!

Get him what he would really like I would say otherwise he'll just pine for it!

I agree the internet on blackberries isn't that great (but as I mentioned, I'm not using mine for that purpose).

foxinsocks · 12/12/2009 19:46

ooh sorry kid, mine was refreshing so slow I didn't see you got him the iphone!

what a great pressie!

I got it from O2. They can offer you the business plan at the moment which means I got the bigger memory.

He will get 700 minutes and can't remember how many texts and also unlimited internet access.
I know he will love it, I don't think he is expecting me to buy it for him though. Its on a 24 month contract and he can upgrade the phone after 1 year.

I did enquire about the cost of the blackberry bold, it worked out more expensive than the iphone. BTW, the iphone costs £36 a month plus £57 for the handset.

Thanks kid. Spoke to them this am and got a great deal.

Thats good to hear.

I could have killed DS. An advert for Iphone came on yesterday and DS announced 'mummy, remember the present we got daddy for Christmas!'

I chose to ignore him, wonder if DH knows what he has got for Xmas?
