I want to get dh a playstation 3 for Christmas, but the 120g ones are around the £250 mark, whereas the 80g ones are nearer £180. Is there a noticeable difference, or is it just not worth getting the smaller version? I don't think we'd use it to download films etc, just playing games really.

Hi my partner has the 120g PS3 and it has far too much memory. Most online sites it doesnt let you download movies ect to the PS because it wont be covered for viruses and would be quite costly to restore so you really would be better getting the 80g. The main thing the memory is used for is game saves but this uses such a minimal amount it doesnt even get noticed.

Oooh thanks for that, that's very interesting. Dh of course would say the 120 gb version is what he'd want, but being a bloke he just assumes bigger is better.

Haha i no what you mean. Just tell him that if he wants the 120g then he can pay the extra 70pound lol. That will shut him up
