can gamecube games be played on the wii???

hi ds1 (3.7) really enjoys playing the wii and wanted to get him some new games for xmas and have found some great value 'gamecube/wii games' does this mean you can use them on thee wii even though they're gamecube games? thanks

Yes you can - I just got DS to show me! Even though the disks are smaller, it just pulls them in and plays them fine. You can also plug Gamecube controllers into slots on the top, and use Gamecube memory cards in the top - inside the top flaps if you have a look in there. I think you'd need to get a memory card to use with them though, but that's pretty cheap.

You can even use your gamecube controller as an extra contoller

thanks, so what, id need to buy a wii memory card??? sorry i havn't got a clue about games consoles!!! we have a wii but not a gamecube but found theese cheap games on ebay.........

No it would be a Gamecube memory card - the Wii games don't need a memory card - I assume they must save onto the disk itself? But Gamecubes don't save onto the disk, you keep your saves on a separate little square plastic thing (about an inch square). I assume the Gamecube disks can't be saved onto.

Wii games save onto the internal memory, not the disc (not that it matters, but just to be accurate )
