Replacing Nintendo DS Lite casing and hinge

Has anyone done this? On Avforums, someone reckoned that it'd take about 1/2 an hour, and isn't beyond the realms of an amateur.

I'm just wondering if it'd be too much to do, and I don't want to be in the position where I take it apart and can't get it back together!

On the other hand money is tight...

The hinge is cracked, and the casing has a tiny crack in, but at the moment it all still works.

Took my DH ages and he would never do it again. He is very able with that sort of thing.

Recommend sending it off.

Thanks. I'd seen Console Doctor recommended elsewhere, and its useful to hear from someone who has already attempted it.
