Santa is hopefully going to be bringing dd a laptop for Christmas.

As it's for a child I obv don't want to spend a fortune [tight arse emoticon], however it needs to be good enough to last a good few years.

Which one would be best?

I guess it will be used for music, sims, games on web, and whatever teenagers use computers for in the coming years, mumsnet when dd in bed.

Budget £200 - £300 max.

TIA, you'll be making a little girl v. v. happy .

OMG just seen this !

Ooh, thanks Lenin.

Which one for £349?

I had a quick look last night and was worried I wasn't adding enough 'bits' to it IFKWIM?

And will that one be a nice colour? Sorry, she is a girly girl.

I'd recommend PC Specialist over Dell, I've bought from both but in the last year or so Dell's customer service and build quality have really gone downhill. Plus PC Specialist offers more flexibility IMO.

And no, I don't work for them!

I got one recommended by GADGET SHOW

Thank you all for your advice.

Will show dh this thread and hopefully it'll help him make a decision and part with his cash!
