Seem to have lost a year's worth of emails - can these be retrieved?

Have used Outlook Express since around 2002 with no problems. However, this morning, when I turned PC on and entered Outlook Express, it seemed to be struggling to download new emails. Ended up having to re-boot as PC froze. On restarting up all seemed ok, but have in the hour or so since then I have just realised that about a years worth of incoming mail has vanished. Have looked in other folders, deleted folder etc - but all seems to have vanished. Just wondering if there is any way of retrieving this? Thanks.

Yup. What internet provider do you use. If it's BT internet they are probably in your online email box, or you've archived them by accident. Go to file, open, and look for your .pst file. Or search on windows for a *.pst file and when you've found the location do a file and open in Express and they will reappear.

It sounds like you've corrupted your mailbox. Read this, back everything up and try some of the recommendations. Maybe get a geeky friend to help?
