Video stuck in VCR - how do I get it out without damaging VCR?

Yes, I know VCRs are practically obsolete but we still have one and it has a video stuck in it - any tips for getting it out without wrecking the machine?

In the olden days, there used to be a little hole near disc drives on computers, so you could undo a paperclip and poke the end in to release it. IS there anything similar on yr VCR (get down and look really hard)?

It had been stuck for about 3 weeks.
I couldn't see anything pokeable so tried pressing the eject button, which had not given any result till now, - and out it popped!
