Messenger problem with webcam

Hi,
well...all of a sudden it doesn't seem to work anymore, it keeps telling me the camera is busy already...
only explanation is, that I had a video call earlier, and instead of hanging up in the end, I may well have just closed the window...so, could the camera htink that it is still working?
I have tried with restarting the laptop, but didn't make any chance
really annoyed right now...anyone know what the problem could be? and what to do?

DD has recently got a new laptop and she keeps getting this problem
The only thing that has worked for us is to reinstall the webcam software from the disk that should have come with your laptop.
This works everytime for us but we are reinstalling every other day and its really annoying.

oh dear..that is bad...it's the firs time it happened....alhough in the end, it started to work, but was jus not very relibale...and quite a few msn messenger users seem to have problems...so...am hoping it was msn trouble...rather than laoptop...but thanks for your reply

Check the laptop brand's site for an updated webcam driver. The one on the disk that came with the laptop has probably been fixed.
