HP laptop noisy button query?

I have a HP lappy - think it is a 540 but couldnt swear to it

18mths old

I have 2 clicky buttons under my mousepad, left click and right click - that every time I click to use them (Ie to copy/paste or scroll down and click) they make a noise

always been like it

gets rather annoying after a while - esp if I am watching tv and dh is surfing - tho sure I annoy him as well when using it

is there anything in the control panel etc that will stop them both making a click noise when i touch them or do i have a dodgy lappy?

thanks

Go into the sound settings under Control Panel and look for a "sound" which describes itself as "Mouse Click" or similar. You can then turn it off.
You may find custom "HP" options for the trackpad clicks as well.
