2nd hand games on Playstation 2 not reading - how to clean the machine and games?????

Had a problem with it for ages that it wont read discs and getting really frustrated - how do I sort this out without resorting to chucking said player out of the window????

Babywipes for the games - I always try to wipe them gently with a circular motion, so as not to risk scratching them. They then have to be patted dry (not rubbed briskly) using something which doesn't leave bits on them - no kitchen towel for eg.

Is it all discs or just some which are dirty?

If it's all discs you may be screwed

If it's just dirty ones, buy some disc cleaner (or try baby wipes as suggested by notquitegrownup)

If it's a really really chunky old type PS2, and you have used a blue coloured disc in it you will have to buy a new one most likely as they break the machine
