Aged mother is here, and is itching to moan swap notes with other Grannies. Anyone know if there is something similar to MN that I could let her loose on?

Look in In the Club section and you will find gransnet.

It isn't very active-no messages since May.

Thanks Pisces - doesn't look too hopeful though, does it.

I think there are lots of grannies on MN but they tend to pile in with the rest of us young uns

Gransnet started because they wanted to have a granny zone, its just dormant at the mo - if you dare to let her into your mn secret get her to revive gransnet

There must be some sort of forum specifically for grannies though...........

I wouldn't dare let her loose on MN - seriously. She's lovely, but has led a very sheltered life and is liable to offend without knowing.

On the other hand - it might be fun

especially if her screename is paola'smum. i wouldn't let my mum near mn either. her own son has sn, and she described other children at his school as 'not having a lot goign on'. I nearly died
I'm sure your mum isn't in the same league!

Hi there,

I run a website for grandparents - we have 1600 members, so plenty of people to chat to. I set it up with my mother 2 years ago. We have articles on feeding and playing to technology and money matters. We have forum discussions on pretty much anything from childcare arrangements to a book club.

So come and join us you are more than welcome,

Verity

"has led a very sheltered life and is liable to offend without knowing"

liable to offend, or be offended (or both) ?

There's also Saga Zone which is aimed at the 50+ set.
