Are iphones really worth it? Are there good, cheaper alternatives?

Not really and I don't have one, but I understand there is a new model coming out or just released, so you may be able to get a deal on the old model, as my friend has just done.

That depends on what you expect from it.

I don't need or use such a fancy phone, but if you want something like that, the main alternatives are the Palm Pre and the Blackberry storm. You might want to Google for comparisons like this one.

I don't know all that much about all the millions of extras that iPhones offer, but I'd love an ipod (I'm sure they're built-in, right?), email access, and a good way to list my contacts. Radio too - though I doubt iPhones have them. Oh, and a dishwasher.
